Leadership - Parrish Ravelli, NCTHA Coordinator

Parrish Ravelli graduated from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in 2003 with a BA in Creative Writing and has been working in community development and youth programming for 6 six years. In 2004, Parrish took part in a year of service as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America), through the Montana Prevention Resource Center. His work in Great Falls, MT was with 3 youth serving non-profits. In this role he implemented a community needs and assets matrix that helped to identify community risk and protective factors. He was also instrumental in streamlining the development of the Great Falls Health Youth Coalition. Following his work as a VISTA, Parrish moved into a position with the Question Why Youth Empowerment Program in North Carolina, utilizing a comprehensive Youth Empowerment Model to engage youth as leaders in creating community change around adolescent health. Parrish is now utilizing that Youth Empowerment Model in his work with two organizations, the North Carolina School Community Health Alliance (NCSCHA) and Youth Empowered Solutions (YES!), to engage young people in advocating for school-based health care locally and across the state of North Carolina. Parrish has also served as the President for the Cape Fear Teen Health Council Board of Directors and Treasurer for the Tidal Creek Cooperative Board of Directors.
