Hands on School Health Rally
Join us in our efforts to bring a school-based health center to Wake County by attending our Hands on School Health Rally. This FREE event is going to be a mixture of training and action with the opportunity for youth leaders to take away the tools to change their communities.

There will be activities, games and leadership training. We will also be giving away several prizes, including a Xbox 360 Kinnect Bundle!

When: Saturday, May 19, 1 - 4 p.m.

Where: Wake County Commons Building, 4011 Carya Drive, Raleigh, NC

The rally is going to be an empowering event for young leaders in the community to not only develop advocacy and leadership skills, but to stand up and say that school health is an important issue.

Every year NASBHC brings together more than 800 child and adolescent health providers and advocates for the National School-Based Health Care Convention. Children's Mental Health Awareness Week May 6-10, 2012 & Day - May 9, 2012
WEEK: The National Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health declares the first full week in May as National Children's Mental Health Awareness Week. This week is dedicated to increasing public awareness about the triumphs and challenges in children's mental health and emphasizing the importance of family and youth involvement in the children's mental health movement! The theme for 2012 National Children's Mental Health Awareness Week's Poster Contest this year was: Youth Overcoming Trauma.

Child Health Update
On April 23-24, the annual Child Health Update, sponsored by DHHS, Office of Continuing Education, NC Institute for Public Health, UNC-Chapel Hill and others, will bring together content experts to provide information and updates and lead focused discussions on current topics of interest to those who specialize in child health care. Gordon Moore, MD, presents Child Health Collaborative: Improving Access & Efficiency on April 22, 2008, at the Embassy Suites in Greensboro.
