Mental Health
Mental health service delivery at a school-based wellness center is integrated with the comprehensive primary medical care services the student receives. Credentialing guidelines for school-based mental health services reflect this approach through the use of quality assurance standards. These standards identify specific program requirements by subject.
Credentialing requires a commitment to these standards. This commitment is demonstrated through participation in and compliance with the Department of Health’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Self-Assessment for NC Quality Assurance Standards process.
Quality assurance standards for mental health service delivery include: parent/student rights and responsibilities, mental health services, written job descriptions, staff qualifications, and medical/mental health records.
