Clinical
Clinical health service delivery at a school-based and school-linked health center is an integration of primary medical care services provided by a multi-disciplinary team of primary care providers, mental health specialists, nutritional counselors, nurses, educators and ancillary staff. Clinical credentialing guidelines for school-based and school-linked health centers reflect this approach through the use of quality assurance standards. These standards focus on meeting clinical documentation requirements and participation in and compliance with the Department of Health’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Self-Assessment for NC Quality Assurance Standards process.
Credentialing standards for clinical health services include: parent / student rights and responsibilities, written job descriptions, staff qualifications and medical record review for complete comprehensive physical exams, immunizations, general charting requirements, health risk screenings, communication with parents, health check exams up-to-date and nutritional, mental health and educational counseling.
